Bait Finesse Retreat

March 4-6, 2023

If you’re like me, you would rather fish somewhere warm than deal with ice and snow. Florida in the Winter sounds good, right?

Pair that with maybe catching some new species, meeting fellow anglers, and learning some tips and tricks that will help you catch more and better fish and you’ve just described something I’ve always wanted to do!

This year, I’m doing it, and you’re invited to join us. Here was the origin of the idea:

Once some of my friends on YouTube agreed, it was “On like Donkey Kong” as they say! Other guys wanted to get together in Florida too, and I’m sure you do too. So here’s a rough outline of the weekend:

  • Saturday, March 4th
    • -Morning fishing session (optional)
    • -Meet and Greet
    • -Review target species / potential spots identified by each angler
    • -Discuss how to find places to catch bigger / better fish
    • -Late Afternoon fishing (groups of 2-3 based on interests)
  • Sunday March 5th
    • -Morning Fishing Session (groups of 2-3 based on interests)
    • -Tell some fish stores
    • -Skills Competition
    • -Afternoon Fishing Session
  • Monday, March 6th
    • -Morning Fishing Session
    • -Fish Stories
    • -Hands-on demo time with Bait Finesse rod & reel set-ups (feel free to bring your favorites to share!)
    • -Wrap Up – including door prizes

This is all still sort of fluid, but I’m also working on some other potential swag items, including a one-of-a-kind custom painted lure that you will only get as an attendee of this event.

I plan to do a few of these per year across the country, so I want to create a special “artifact” for each event. And working with some custom BFS lure guys seems like a great way to do that, don’t you agree?

I’ve also got a Lemoren glass travel rod and a YLT Tank BFS Reel to give away during the event, and one other person has reached out about either donating or sponsoring something.

A basic lunch will be provided each day, and I’m sure many of us will find a place to have a few adult beverages and tell our fish stories in the evenings. ๐Ÿ˜›

The cost of $250 covers the venue (TBD – but looking for waterfront), swag, prizes, and meals. Travel and lodging is on you.

If this sounds like just the thing you need in late winter, sign up below to reserve your spot.

UPDATE: No new reservation are being accepted. Appreciate your support!

And while this will be BFS focused on the skills and demo days, all anglers are welcome to attend. Maybe you’ve been curious about Bait Finesse Style fishing, or just heard about it and find it fascinating? This would be a great time to learn about BFS and try a lot of different gear!

So see you in Florida, and until then, Tight Lines!
